Here’s a classic Watergate Salad recipe — a sweet, creamy, and fluffy dessert salad that’s super easy to make!


Watergate Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 (3.4 oz) box pistachio instant pudding mix

  • 1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple (undrained)

  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional, but traditional)

  • 1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed


Instructions:

  1. Mix pudding and pineapple:
    In a large bowl, combine the pistachio pudding mix and the entire can of crushed pineapple (including the juice). Stir until well blended.

  2. Add marshmallows and pecans:
    Stir in the mini marshmallows and chopped pecans.

  3. Fold in whipped topping:
    Gently fold in the whipped topping until everything is well mixed and fluffy.

  4. Chill:
    Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (overnight is even better) to let the flavors meld and the salad firm up a bit.

  5. Serve:
    Serve chilled. Optionally, garnish with more pecans, maraschino cherries, or a sprinkle of shredded coconut.
