Turkey Wings

Here’s a tasty and straightforward Turkey Wings recipe you can try. Turkey wings are flavorful and great for a comforting meal!


Braised Turkey Wings

Ingredients:

  • 4 turkey wings (about 3-4 lbs)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 carrots, chopped

  • 2 celery stalks, chopped

  • 1 cup chicken broth (or turkey broth)

  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes (or tomato sauce)

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. Prepare the turkey wings: Pat them dry with paper towels and season generously with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, thyme, and rosemary.

  3. Brown the wings: Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add turkey wings and brown them on all sides (about 4-5 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.

  4. Sauté veggies: In the same pot, add onions, carrots, celery, and garlic. Cook until softened (about 5-7 minutes).

  5. Add liquids: Pour in chicken broth and crushed tomatoes. Stir to combine and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.

  6. Return wings: Put turkey wings back into the pot, nestling them into the liquid.

  7. Bake: Cover the pot with a lid and place it in the oven. Bake for about 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.

  8. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley if you like. These go well with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread.
