🍯 Sticky Honey Garlic Sausage Pasta Skillet

Servings: 4
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 25 mins
Total Time: 35 mins

🧂 Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 lb (450g) sausage (Italian, smoked, or chicken sausage — sliced)

  • 3–4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

  • 1 tbsp tomato paste (optional, for richness)

  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 8 oz (225g) pasta (penne, rotini, or any short pasta)

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening, optional)

  • Green onions or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

🍳 Instructions:

  1. Sauté the sausage:

    • In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil.

    • Add sliced sausage and cook until browned (about 5–7 minutes).

  2. Make the sticky honey garlic sauce:

    • Add minced garlic to the sausage and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

    • Stir in honey, soy sauce, tomato paste (if using), and red pepper flakes.

    • Simmer for 1–2 minutes.

  3. Add pasta & broth:

    • Pour in chicken broth and add pasta directly into the skillet.

    • Stir well and bring to a simmer.

    • Cover and cook for about 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.

  4. Thicken (optional):

    • If sauce is too thin, stir together cornstarch and water in a small bowl and pour into the skillet.

    • Simmer for another 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.

  5. Season and serve:

    • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

    • Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley.

    • Serve hot!

🔄 Tips & Variations:

  • Vegetables: Add bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas for extra color and nutrition.

  • Cheese: Stir in a handful of shredded mozzarella or Parmesan before serving for extra creaminess.

  • Make it spicy: Increase red pepper flakes or add sriracha.
