Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs Recipe

Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp ketchup

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for a little heat)

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)


Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ribs:

    • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).

    • Season ribs with salt and pepper.

    • Place ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet or roasting pan.

  2. Slow Bake the Ribs:

    • Cover ribs tightly with foil and bake for about 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.

  3. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:

    • In a saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 1 min).

    • Add honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, sesame oil, and chili flakes. Stir to combine.

    • Bring to a simmer and cook for 3–5 minutes.

  4. Thicken the Sauce:

    • Stir in the cornstarch slurry (cornstarch + water) and cook for another 2 minutes until sauce thickens and becomes glossy. Remove from heat.

  5. Glaze and Broil:

    • Remove ribs from oven and discard foil.

    • Brush ribs generously with the honey garlic sauce on both sides.

    • Set oven to broil. Place ribs back in oven for 5–7 minutes to caramelize the glaze, watching carefully to avoid burning.

  6. Serve:

    • Let ribs rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve with extra sauce on the side.
