Here’s a  recipe for Sausage Dipped Pancakes — a fun and tasty breakfast where breakfast sausages are dipped in pancake batter and cooked, combining two favorites in one bite!

Sausage Dipped Pancakes Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Pancake Batter:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (plus extra for cooking)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

For the Sausages:

  • 8 to 10 breakfast sausages (small or regular size)

  • Wooden skewers or sticks (optional, for dipping and handling)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Pancake Batter:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then whisk in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently just until combined. The batter should be slightly lumpy but well mixed. Do not overmix.

2. Prepare the Sausages:

  • If using wooden skewers, carefully thread each sausage onto a skewer to make dipping easier.

  • If you prefer, you can cook the sausages first or use precooked sausages. For best flavor and safety, cook the sausages in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes or until browned and cooked through.

3. Dip Sausages in Pancake Batter:

  • Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter or oil.

  • Dip each sausage (on skewer or held with tongs) into the pancake batter, coating it evenly.

  • Carefully place the batter-coated sausage onto the hot skillet.

  • Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the pancake coating is golden brown and cooked through.

4. Serve:

  • Remove the sausage dipped pancakes from the skillet and keep warm.

  • Serve hot with maple syrup, honey, or your favorite breakfast sides like scrambled eggs or fresh fruit.

Tips:

  • You can add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the pancake batter for extra flavor.

  • For a crispier coating, double-dip the sausages in the batter before cooking.

  • If you want a little more indulgence, drizzle the finished pancakes with melted butter and syrup.
