Potato Sticks:

Here’s a simple and tasty recipe for crispy Potato Sticks:


Ingredients:

  • 3 large potatoes

  • Salt (to taste)

  • Black pepper (optional)

  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil works well)

  • Optional seasonings: chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, or dried herbs


Instructions:

  1. Wash and Peel the potatoes.

  2. Cut into sticks: Slice the potatoes lengthwise into thin sticks, about the size of French fries or thinner if you prefer crispier sticks.

  3. Soak in water: Place the cut potato sticks in a bowl of cold water for 20-30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and makes them crispier.

  4. Dry thoroughly: Drain and pat the sticks dry using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. Removing moisture is key for crispiness.

  5. Heat oil: In a deep pan or fryer, heat oil to around 350°F (175°C).

  6. Fry: Fry the potato sticks in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-5 minutes or until golden and crispy.

  7. Drain: Remove the sticks using a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  8. Season: Immediately sprinkle salt and any other seasonings you like while the sticks are still hot.

  9. Serve: Enjoy your crispy potato sticks as a snack or side dish with ketchup, mayo, or your favorite dip!
