🍕 Pizza Especial De La Casa (House Special Pizza)

Ingredients:

Dough (or use store-bought pizza dough)
  • 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • ¾ cup warm water (110°F / 43°C)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Sauce:
  • 1 cup tomato sauce

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Toppings:
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup cooked ham, sliced

  • ½ cup pepperoni or chorizo, sliced

  • ½ cup cooked bacon bits

  • ½ cup sliced green bell peppers

  • ¼ cup sliced red onions

  • ¼ cup sliced black olives

  • ½ cup sliced mushrooms (optional)

  • ¼ cup sweet corn kernels (optional)

  • Fresh oregano or parsley for garnish


🔪 Instructions:

1. Prepare the Dough:

  • In a small bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  • In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.

  • Cover and let rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size.

2. Make the Sauce:

  • In a saucepan, sauté garlic in a bit of olive oil.

  • Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.

  • Simmer for 10 minutes, then set aside.

3. Assemble the Pizza:

  • Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).

  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 12-inch round.

  • Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.

  • Spread sauce over the dough, leaving edges for the crust.

  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly.

  • Layer all toppings: ham, pepperoni, bacon, veggies, olives, and any extras.

4. Bake:

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.

  • Remove and let cool slightly.

5. Garnish and Serve:

  • Sprinkle fresh oregano or parsley.

  • Slice and enjoy!
