Perfect pizza recipe for your family.

Here’s a perfect pizza recipe that’s family-friendly, delicious, and pretty easy to make from scratch. It’s customizable too, so everyone can add their favorite toppings!


Perfect Family Pizza Recipe

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)

  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast

  • 1 ½ cups warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

For the sauce:

  • 1 cup canned crushed tomatoes (or tomato sauce)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • (Optional) pinch of sugar to balance acidity

Toppings:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or your favorite blend)

  • Your family’s favorite toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives, sausage, pineapple, etc.)


Instructions:

  1. Make the dough:

    • In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it’s foamy.

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.

    • Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour and stir until a dough forms.

    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

    • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.

  2. Prepare the sauce:

    • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

    • Add garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).

    • Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar if using.

    • Simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.

  3. Preheat the oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

    • If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats for a crispier crust.

  4. Assemble the pizza:

    • Punch down the dough and divide it into 2 portions (for 2 medium pizzas).

    • Roll out one portion on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle.

    • Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or a pizza peel if using a stone.

    • Spread a thin layer of sauce over the dough.

    • Sprinkle cheese evenly.

    • Add your chosen toppings.

  5. Bake:

    • Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

    • Remove from oven and let cool for a couple of minutes before slicing.

  6. Enjoy!
