Here’s a Pepperoni Pizza Grilled Cheese recipe that combines the best of both worlds — cheesy pizza goodness and the crispy, buttery delight of grilled cheese:


🍕 Pepperoni Pizza Grilled Cheese

Ingredients (Makes 2 sandwiches):

  • 4 slices of bread (Italian or sourdough works great)

  • 2 tbsp butter (softened)

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra flavor)

  • 12–16 slices pepperoni

  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping)

  • 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

  • Pinch of garlic powder (optional)


Instructions:

  1. Prep the Bread:

    • Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.

  2. Assemble the Sandwich:

    • On the unbuttered side of two bread slices, spread about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce.

    • Sprinkle half the mozzarella and cheddar over the sauce.

    • Add a layer of pepperoni (6–8 slices per sandwich).

    • Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garlic powder if using.

    • Add the rest of the cheese on top.

    • Place the remaining slices of bread on top, buttered side facing out.

  3. Cook the Sandwich:

    • Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat.

    • Place sandwiches in the skillet. Cook for 2–4 minutes per side, pressing down gently with a spatula, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  4. Serve:

    • Slice diagonally and serve hot with extra pizza sauce for dipping.


🧑‍🍳 Tips:

  • Add sliced black olives, banana peppers, or cooked mushrooms for a supreme version.

  • Swap in marinara sauce for a richer flavor.

  • Use a panini press for an extra crispy, evenly toasted sandwich.
