A Pecan Pie Dump Cake is a super easy, no-fuss dessert that gives you all the deliciousness of a traditional pecan pie with minimal effort. Here’s a simple recipe to get you started:

Pecan Pie Dump Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz) of pecan pie filling (or homemade pecan pie filling)

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix

  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional, but adds a nice crunch)

  • 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut (optional, but adds extra flavor)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.

  2. Dump the Filling:
    Pour the can of pecan pie filling into the bottom of your prepared baking dish. Spread it evenly.

  3. Add the Cake Mix:
    Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the pecan pie filling. Don’t stir it in; just leave it as is.

  4. Top with Butter:
    Pour the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix. It may not cover everything completely, but that’s okay.

  5. Add Optional Extras:
    If you’re using pecans or coconut, sprinkle them on top of the butter and cake mix.

  6. Bake:
    Place the dish in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

  7. Serve:
    Allow the dump cake to cool for a few minutes before serving. It’s delicious on its own, but you can also serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
