Here’s a classic and easy Peanut Butter Balls recipe — perfect for holidays, snacks, or a sweet treat anytime!

🥜 Peanut Butter Balls Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 3–4 cups powdered sugar (start with 3 cups)

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chocolate melting wafers)

  • 1 tablespoon shortening or coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate)

Instructions:

  1. Mix the Filling:

    • In a large bowl, beat together peanut butter, butter, and vanilla until smooth.

    • Gradually add powdered sugar until the mixture is stiff but pliable. (It should hold its shape when rolled into a ball.)

  2. Form the Balls:

    • Roll into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper.

    • Chill in the refrigerator or freezer for about 30 minutes, until firm.

  3. Melt the Chocolate:

    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips (and shortening/oil if using) in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.

  4. Dip and Set:

    • Using a fork or toothpick, dip each ball into the melted chocolate and let the excess drip off.

    • Place back on the lined tray and let sit until the chocolate is set. You can refrigerate them to speed this up.

  5. Store:

    • Keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for longer storage.

✅ Tips:

  • You can use crunchy peanut butter if you like texture.

  • For a festive twist, top with sprinkles, crushed nuts, or drizzle white chocolate before the coating sets.
