Here’s a delicious Orange Chicken Fried Rice recipe that combines crispy orange chicken with savory fried rice for a flavorful, satisfying meal.


🍊 Orange Chicken Fried Rice Recipe

🐔 For the Orange Chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)

  • 1/4 cup cornstarch

  • 2 tbsp flour

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 1 egg

  • Oil for frying

Orange Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup orange juice (fresh or store-bought)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp orange zest

  • 1 garlic clove (minced)

  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger

  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (slurry)


🍚 For the Fried Rice:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)

  • 2 eggs (lightly beaten)

  • 1/2 cup diced onion

  • 1/2 cup diced carrots

  • 1/2 cup frozen peas

  • 2–3 green onions (sliced)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil


🔪 Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken:

  1. Mix the chicken pieces with the egg, cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper.

  2. Heat oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. Fry chicken until golden and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

2. Make the Orange Sauce:

  1. In a saucepan, mix orange juice, soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, orange zest, garlic, and ginger.

  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.

  3. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens (1–2 minutes).

  4. Toss the fried chicken in the sauce until well coated.

3. Make the Fried Rice:

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  2. Scramble the eggs, then remove and set aside.

  3. Add onion and carrots, sauté until tender.

  4. Add peas, cooked rice, and soy sauce. Stir-fry 3–4 minutes.

  5. Mix in scrambled eggs and green onions. Drizzle sesame oil last and stir.

4. Combine:

  • Serve fried rice on a plate and top with orange chicken. Garnish with extra green onions or sesame seeds.


🔄 Optional Add-ins:

  • Crushed red pepper for spice

  • Bell peppers for color and crunch

  • Pineapple chunks for a sweet twist
