Here’s a flavorful Onion Beef Fried Rice recipe that’s perfect for a quick meal:

🥩🍚 Onion Beef Fried Rice

Servings: 2–3
Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 30 mins

🔪 Ingredients:

For the Beef:

  • 200g (7 oz) beef (flank, sirloin, or ribeye), thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • Pinch of white pepper

For the Fried Rice:

  • 3 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old, cold)

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 green onions, chopped (optional)

  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for depth)

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or neutral)

🍳 Instructions:

1. Marinate the Beef

Mix beef slices with soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and white pepper. Set aside for 10–15 minutes while you prep the rest.

2. Cook the Beef

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat.

  • Add beef and stir-fry for 1–2 minutes until just cooked. Remove and set aside.

3. Cook the Onion

  • In the same pan, add another tablespoon of oil.

  • Add sliced onion and sauté until softened and slightly caramelized (3–4 minutes).

  • Add minced garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds.

4. Add Eggs

  • Push onion to one side. Pour beaten eggs into the pan and scramble them until just set.

  • Mix with the onion and garlic.

5. Add Rice and Combine

  • Add the cold rice, breaking up any clumps with a spatula.

  • Stir everything together until the rice is heated through.

6. Season

  • Add soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sugar, and cooked beef.

  • Toss until evenly combined and everything is hot. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.

7. Finish

  • Stir in chopped green onions (optional).

  • Serve hot!

🍽️ Tips:

  • Use cold rice for the best texture—fresh rice gets mushy.

  • For extra flavor, add a dash of dark soy sauce or a spoon of chili crisp at the end.

  • You can substitute beef with chicken, tofu, or mushrooms.
