Old Fashioned Pancakes

Here’s a classic Old Fashioned Pancakes recipe — simple, fluffy, and made from scratch:


🥞 Old Fashioned Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 3 ½ tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp white sugar

  • 1 ¼ cups milk

  • 1 egg

  • 3 tbsp butter, melted (plus more for cooking)


Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients
    In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

  2. Add Wet Ingredients
    Make a well in the center. Pour in the milk, egg, and melted butter. Mix until smooth — a few small lumps are okay (don’t overmix).

  3. Heat the Pan
    Heat a lightly buttered griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.

  4. Cook the Pancakes
    Pour about ¼ cup of batter per pancake onto the griddle. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  5. Serve Warm
    Serve with butter and maple syrup, or your favorite toppings.
