Maple Brown Sugar Cookies

Here’s a delicious Maple Brown Sugar Cookies recipe that’s soft, chewy, and rich with maple flavor:


🍁 Maple Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients (Makes ~24 cookies)

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups (315g) all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup (200g) packed light brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup (60ml) pure maple syrup (use Grade A or B for strong flavor)

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp maple extract (optional, for extra maple punch)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  3. Cream butter and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).

  4. Add wet ingredients: Beat in the egg, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and maple extract (if using) until smooth and creamy.

  5. Combine: Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Don’t overmix.

  6. Scoop dough: Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion dough balls (~1.5 tbsp each) onto the prepared baking sheets, spaced about 2 inches apart.

  7. Bake: Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers will look soft — that’s perfect.

  8. Cool: Let cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.


Optional Maple Glaze

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2–3 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1–2 tsp milk (to thin if needed)

Instructions:
Whisk together until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
