🌶️ Mango Habanero Honey Garlic Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
-
1 ripe mango (peeled, pitted, diced) — or 1 cup mango puree
-
2-3 habanero peppers (adjust to spice level, remove seeds for less heat)
-
4 cloves garlic (minced or smashed)
-
1/3 cup honey
-
2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
-
1 tbsp lime juice (optional, for brightness)
-
1 tbsp olive oil or neutral oil
-
Salt to taste
Instructions:
-
Sauté aromatics:
In a small saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant (do not brown). -
Blend ingredients:
In a blender or food processor, combine sautéed garlic, mango, habaneros, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and lime juice. Blend until smooth. -
Simmer:
Pour the blended sauce back into the saucepan. Simmer on low heat for 8–10 minutes to thicken slightly and let flavors meld. Stir occasionally. -
Taste and adjust:
Add salt to taste, and adjust sweetness or heat if needed with more honey or an extra pepper. -
Cool & store:
Let the sauce cool before transferring it to a jar. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
