Base Layers:

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 packet taco seasoning mix

1/2 cup water

1 head romaine or iceberg lettuce, chopped

1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (15 oz) corn, drained

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1/2 red onion, diced

1-2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
Crunchy Layer:

2 cups tortilla chips, slightly crushed
Creamy Layer:

1 cup sour cream
-
1 cup salsa
-
1/2 cup mayonnaise (optional for a richer dressing)

1 tbsp lime juice
Optional Toppings:

1 avocado, diced or guacamole

Sliced black olives

Jalapeño slices

Fresh cilantro

Hot sauce
🥣 Instructions

Cook Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey. Drain excess fat, add taco seasoning and 1/2 cup water. Simmer until thickened (about 5 minutes). Let cool slightly.

Mix Dressing: In a bowl, combine sour cream, salsa, mayo (if using), and lime juice. Stir until smooth.

Layer the Salad:
In a large trifle bowl or 9×13-inch dish, layer in the following order:-
Lettuce
