🧂 Ingredients

For the Steak:

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (1-inch thick, about 8 oz each)

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)

  • 2 garlic cloves, smashed

For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard (optional for extra depth)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


🔥 Instructions

1. Season the Steaks

  • Pat steaks dry with paper towels.

  • Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Let them sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes.

2. Sear the Steaks

  • Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet (cast iron preferred) over medium-high heat until hot.

  • Add steaks and sear for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust time for preferred doneness).

  • During the last minute, add butter, garlic cloves, and herbs. Tilt the pan and spoon the melted butter over the steaks.

  • Remove steaks, cover loosely with foil, and rest while making the sauce.

3. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce

  • In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add 1 tbsp butter.

  • Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds).

  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

  • Stir in Parmesan cheese and Dijon mustard. Simmer until the sauce thickens (about 3–5 minutes).

  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Serve

  • Slice the rested steaks and serve with the creamy garlic sauce spooned on top.

  • Garnish with fresh parsley.


🍷 Pairing Suggestion:

A bold red wine like Cabernet Sauvignon or Malbec pairs beautifully with this dish.
