🍔 Homemade Bacon Cheeseburger Sub
📝 Ingredients (Makes 2 Large Subs)
For the Meat:

1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Other Fillings:

4–6 slices of bacon, cooked crispy

4 slices cheddar cheese (or American cheese)

½ cup caramelized or sautéed onions (optional)

Dill pickle slices (optional)

Lettuce and tomato (optional for a fresh bite)
Bread & Toppings:

2 large sub rolls or hoagie rolls

2 tbsp mayonnaise
-
1 tbsp ketchup
-
1 tbsp yellow mustard (or use burger sauce)

Butter for toasting rolls
🔪 Instructions
1. Cook the Bacon

Fry or bake the bacon until crispy.

Drain on paper towels and set aside.
2. Prepare the Burger Filling

In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.

Shape into 2 oblong patties (to fit sub rolls), or cook loose like a cheesesteak.

Cook in a skillet over medium-high heat for ~4–5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
3. Melt the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place cheese slices over the meat and cover the pan to melt.
4. Toast the Rolls

Split the sub rolls lengthwise (but not all the way through).

Butter the insides and toast on a skillet or under a broiler until golden.
5. Assemble the Subs

Spread mayo, ketchup, and mustard on the toasted rolls.

Add the cheesy beef.

Layer with bacon, onions, pickles, lettuce, and tomato as desired.
6. Serve

Slice in half, serve hot with fries, chips, or a side salad.
