Hamburger Potato Casserole

Here’s a tasty Hamburger Potato Casserole recipe for you! It’s hearty, cheesy, and perfect for a comforting meal.


Hamburger Potato Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 4 cups frozen hash brown potatoes (shredded or diced)

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup)

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • Optional: 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn), drained


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Cook the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat until beef is browned and onions are soft. Drain excess fat.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  4. Add the frozen hash browns, cooked beef & onions, and 1 cup of shredded cheese (reserve the other cup for topping). If using, fold in the mixed vegetables.

  5. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.

  6. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread evenly.

  7. Top with remaining 1 cup of cheese.

  8. Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes, until casserole is bubbly and cheese is melted and golden.

  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
