Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Grill Pan Honey Glazed Steak Strips. It’s quick, flavorful, and perfect for a weeknight dinner or when you’re craving something savory with a touch of sweetness.

Grill Pan Honey Glazed Steak Strips Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) of flank steak or sirloin (cut into thin strips)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Honey Glaze:
  • 3 tbsp honey

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (preferably low-sodium)

  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (optional, for extra depth)

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for a little tang)

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional)

  • 1 tbsp butter (for finishing)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Steak:

    • Slice the steak into thin strips against the grain (about 1/2 inch thick). This helps the steak stay tender while cooking.

    • Season the steak strips with salt and pepper on both sides. Set aside.

  2. Make the Honey Glaze:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic, and ginger. Set aside.

  3. Cook the Steak:

    • Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a grill pan over medium-high heat. Make sure the pan is hot before adding the steak to get those grill marks.

    • Add the steak strips in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, depending on how you like your steak cooked. Don’t overcrowd the pan—cook in batches if necessary.

    • Remove the steak strips from the pan and set them aside.

  4. Make the Glaze:

    • In the same pan, lower the heat to medium. Add the honey glaze mixture to the pan. Stir it around to deglaze the pan and scrape up any browned bits from the steak.

    • Allow the glaze to simmer and thicken for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    • Add the butter and stir until it melts into the glaze, making it rich and shiny.

  5. Combine the Steak and Glaze:

    • Return the cooked steak strips to the pan, tossing them in the glaze until evenly coated and heated through (about 1-2 minutes).

  6. Serve:

    • Transfer the glazed steak strips to a plate. You can garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or chives if you like.

    • Serve hot with your favorite side dishes such as roasted vegetables, rice, or a simple salad.

Optional Add-ins or Substitutes:

  • Spicy Kick: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a small chopped chili pepper to the glaze for a bit of heat.

  • Vegetables: You can also toss in some bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms with the steak while cooking for added flavor.

  • Acidity: Squeeze a bit of fresh lemon juice over the top before serving for some bright acidity.
