Here’s a tasty Garlic Chicken Lo Mein recipe for you! It’s quick, flavorful, and perfect for a homemade takeout vibe.


Garlic Chicken Lo Mein

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti (if unavailable)

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 2 chicken breasts, thinly sliced

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 small onion, sliced

  • 1 cup shredded carrots

  • 1 cup snap peas or snow peas

  • 3 green onions, chopped

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (optional but recommended)

  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the noodles:
    Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. Toss with a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. Prepare the sauce:
    In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and sugar. Set aside.

  3. Cook the chicken:
    Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and cook until no longer pink (about 5-6 minutes). Remove chicken and set aside.

  4. Sauté vegetables and garlic:
    In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil. Add the minced garlic and sliced onions, cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and translucent.

  5. Add veggies:
    Toss in shredded carrots and snap peas. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until veggies are tender-crisp.

  6. Combine:
    Return the cooked chicken to the pan. Add the noodles and pour the sauce over everything. Toss well to combine and heat through.

  7. Finish:
    Stir in chopped green onions and sprinkle red pepper flakes if you want some heat.

  8. Serve hot!
