Fruity Tapioca Jelly Drink

Posted on June 1, 2025

A Fruity Tapioca Jelly Drink is a refreshing, colorful beverage combining sweet fruit flavors, chewy tapioca pearls, and jelly cubes in a creamy or juicy base. It’s a popular treat in bubble tea shops and Asian cafés. Here’s an overview and a simple recipe if you want to make it at home:

A Fruity Tapioca Jelly Drink typically includes:

  • Tapioca pearls – chewy “boba” made from cassava starch

  • Fruit jelly – often made with agar or konjac in mango, lychee, or coconut flavors

  • Fruity base – fruit juice, milk tea, or smoothie-style blend

  • Sweetener – optional, like honey or syrup

  • Ice or chilled – served cold for refreshment

🍹 Simple Homemade Recipe

🧋 Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup black tapioca pearls

  • 1/4 cup fruit-flavored jelly cubes (mango, lychee, or strawberry)

  • 1 cup fruit juice (mango, lychee, passion fruit, etc.)

  • 1/2 cup milk or coconut milk (optional, for creamy style)

  • 1–2 tsp simple syrup or honey (to taste)

  • Ice cubes

🧑‍🍳 Directions:

  1. Cook Tapioca Pearls

    • Boil tapioca pearls according to package instructions (usually 5–10 mins), then let them sit covered for a few minutes.

    • Rinse with cold water and toss in a little sugar or syrup.

  2. Prepare Jelly Cubes

    • If using store-bought jelly, cut into small cubes. You can also use jelly cups.

  3. Assemble the Drink

    • In a tall glass, layer tapioca pearls, jelly cubes, and ice.

    • Pour in fruit juice (and milk if using) over the top.

    • Stir gently. Add a fat straw and enjoy!

🧠 Tips & Variations:

  • Layer flavors: Try combining mango juice with coconut jelly or lychee juice with strawberry jelly.

  • Add fruit bits: Chunks of fresh mango, strawberry, or kiwi add more texture.

  • Vegan? Use coconut milk and agar jelly.
