Here’s a tasty Florida Shrimp Pie recipe for you! It’s a delicious savory pie that highlights shrimp with a creamy, cheesy filling—perfect for a coastal-inspired meal.


Florida Shrimp Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1 lb cooked shrimp, peeled and chopped

  • 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped

  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup half-and-half or whole milk

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (or your favorite seafood seasoning)

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil (for sautéing)


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Prepare the crust: Place your pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.

  3. Sauté veggies: In a medium skillet, heat butter or olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, celery, and green pepper. Cook until veggies are soft, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

  4. Mix filling: In a large bowl, whisk eggs, half-and-half (or milk), mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper until combined.

  5. Add cheese and shrimp: Stir in shredded cheddar and mozzarella, cooked shrimp, and the sautéed veggies.

  6. Fill the crust: Pour the shrimp mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it out evenly.

  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the pie is set and the top is golden brown.

  8. Cool and serve: Let the pie cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.


Serving suggestion: Pair with a fresh green salad or some steamed veggies for a complete meal.
