Double Chocolate Banana Bread

Posted on May 16, 2025

Here’s a delicious recipe for Double Chocolate Banana Bread that’s rich, moist, and perfect for any chocolate lover!

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe bananas (mashed)

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/3 cup melted butter

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (or granulated sugar)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips (or more semi-sweet, if preferred)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. You should have about 1 cup of mashed bananas.

  3. Add the eggs, melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract to the bananas and mix well until combined.

  4. In another bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

  5. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Don’t overmix!

  6. Fold in the chocolate chips (semi-sweet and milk chocolate) until evenly distributed.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly.

  8. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick or cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top starts to brown too quickly, cover it loosely with foil and continue baking.

  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
