๐ŸŒž DIY Bioplastic Suncatchers Recipe
๐Ÿงช Ingredients:
1 tablespoon gelatin (unflavored, powdered)

3 tablespoons water

1 teaspoon glycerin (found at pharmacies or online)

Food coloring or liquid watercolors

Optional: Glitter, flower petals, sequins, or confetti

๐Ÿงฐ Tools:
Small saucepan or microwave-safe container

Spoon or stir stick

Non-stick surface (wax paper, silicone mat, or plastic sheet)

Cookie cutters or molds (for shapes)

Dropper or spoon (to pour)

Hole punch (for hanging)

๐Ÿงพ Instructions:
Mix the Bioplastic Base:

In a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, combine:

1 tbsp gelatin

3 tbsp water

1 tsp glycerin

Stir well.

Heat the Mixture:

Heat gently:

Stovetop: Low heat, stir constantly until the gelatin dissolves.

Microwave: 15โ€“20 seconds at a time, stirring in between.

Mixture should be thick and syrupy.

Add Color & Extras:

Divide into small cups if using multiple colors.

Add a drop or two of food coloring or watercolor to each cup.

Stir in glitter, flower petals, or confetti if desired.

Pour & Shape:

Pour onto your non-stick surface in small pools.

Use cookie cutters to guide shapes or wait until semi-set to cut with a knife.

Spread thin (1โ€“2 mm) for best transparency.

Drying Time:

Let air dry for 24โ€“48 hours, depending on thickness and humidity.

Bioplastic will go from flexible to firm and glossy.

Finish:

Once dry, peel from surface.

Punch a hole and thread with string or fishing line.

๐Ÿ“ Tips:
Store in a dry place; humidity may make the bioplastic soft.

Add essential oils (lavender, citrus) to make them smell nice.

For best transparency, avoid over-mixing after coloring.
