🍩 How to Make Diplomat Cream-Filled Donuts

Ingredients:

For the donuts:

  • 1 medium egg

  • 50g butter

  • 200g milk

  • 80g sugar

  • 500g all-purpose flour

For the diplomat cream:

  • 300g pastry cream

  • 200g heavy cream

For the topping:

  • Sugar

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the dough:

    • Dissolve the yeast in warm milk with a teaspoon of sugar and let it sit for 10 minutes.

    • In a stand mixer, combine the flour, beaten egg, melted butter, sugar, and the milk-yeast mixture.

    • Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 20 minutes.

    • Place the dough in a greased bowl and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.

    • Roll out the dough and cut into 6cm discs.

  3. Fry the donuts:

    • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 180°C (350°F).

    • Carefully drop the dough discs into the hot oil, frying a few at a time to prevent sticking.

    • Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3 minutes per side.
