Ingredients:
For the crust (optional β or use pre-made pie crust or pizza dough):

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1 tsp sugar

1 cup cold butter (cut into cubes)

6β8 tbsp ice water
For the filling:

1 lb ground beef
-
1/2 lb Italian sausage (mild or hot, casings removed)

1 small onion, chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup pizza sauce or marinara
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
1/2 cup shredded provolone or cheddar cheese
-
20β30 slices pepperoni
-
1/2 tsp dried oregano
-
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Crust (If Homemade):

Mix flour, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.

Gradually add ice water, mixing just until dough holds together.

Divide in half, form discs, wrap, and chill for 30 minutes.
2. Cook the Meat Filling:

In a skillet, cook ground beef, sausage, and onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.

Stir in garlic, pizza sauce, oregano, pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
3. Assemble the Pie:

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out one crust (or press pizza dough) into a deep 9-inch pie dish or springform pan.

Layer half the meat mixture, sprinkle some cheese, then add a layer of pepperoni.

Repeat layers: meat, cheese, pepperoni.

Top with final sprinkle of mozzarella and cheddar.
4. Top Crust (Optional):

Roll out second crust and place over top. Seal edges, cut steam vents.
Or skip top crust and bake open-face like a deep-dish pizza pie.
5. Bake:

Bake for 35β45 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling.

Let rest 10 minutes before slicing to set.
