CRIPSY FRIES

Here’s a crispy fries recipe that delivers golden, crunchy perfection every time:


🥔 CRISPY FRIES RECIPE

✅ Ingredients:

  • 4 large russet potatoes

  • Cold water (for soaking)

  • 2–3 tablespoons white vinegar (optional, for extra crispness)

  • Oil for frying (vegetable, peanut, or canola)

  • Salt (to taste)

  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, or seasoning salt


🔪 Instructions:

1. Peel & Cut

  • Peel (optional) and cut the potatoes into even ¼-inch thick sticks.

  • Try to keep the size uniform for even cooking.

2. Soak in Cold Water

  • Soak the fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours (or overnight).

  • Add a tablespoon of white vinegar to the water (optional) to help the fries hold their shape and crisp better.

  • This removes excess starch for extra crispiness.

3. Rinse & Dry Thoroughly

  • Drain and rinse the fries.

  • Pat completely dry using clean kitchen towels or paper towels. Moisture causes soggy fries!


🍳 Frying Method (Double-Fry = Ultimate Crisp)

4. First Fry – Cook Through (Blanch)

  • Heat oil to 300°F (150°C).

  • Fry the potatoes in small batches for 4–5 minutes until soft but not brown.

  • Remove and drain on paper towels.

5. Rest

  • Let fries cool for 15–30 minutes (you can refrigerate them to speed this up).

6. Second Fry – Crisp Up

  • Heat oil to 375°F (190°C).

  • Fry the blanched fries again for 2–4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

  • Drain on paper towels and season with salt immediately.


🧂 Optional Seasoning Ideas:

  • Garlic Parmesan: Toss with garlic powder and grated parmesan.

  • Cajun Fries: Use Cajun seasoning blend.

  • Truffle Fries: Drizzle with truffle oil and parsley.
