🦐🦀 Creamy Shrimp and Crab Spinach Dip

Ingredients:

Seafood:

  • 1/2 cup small shrimp, peeled, deveined, cooked, and chopped

  • 1/2 cup lump crab meat (drained, shells removed)

Dairy & Cream:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Veggies & Flavor:

  • 1 cup fresh spinach (or 1/2 cup frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning (optional but recommended)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Cook the Aromatics:

    • In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil or butter.

    • Sauté the onion until translucent (2–3 mins), then add garlic and cook 30 seconds more.

  3. Add Spinach:

    • Add fresh spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted. If using frozen spinach, just stir it in and heat through.

  4. Combine Dip Mixture:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and mayo until smooth.

    • Stir in the cooked spinach mixture, mozzarella, Parmesan, chopped shrimp, and crab meat.

    • Add Old Bay seasoning, salt, pepper, and cayenne if using. Mix thoroughly.

  5. Bake:

    • Spread the dip into a small baking dish or cast-iron skillet.

    • Top with a little extra cheese if desired.

    • Bake for 20–25 minutes, until hot and bubbly, and slightly golden on top.

  6. Serve:

    • Serve warm with tortilla chips, crostini, toasted bread, crackers, or veggie sticks.

Tips:

  • You can substitute the shrimp or crab with more of the other if you prefer just one type of seafood.

  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice or a splash of hot sauce for extra zing.

  • This can be made ahead and baked just before serving.
