Here’s a luscious, rich Creamy Milk Cake recipe—an indulgent dessert soaked in sweetened milk and cream, similar to tres leches but with its own creamy twist. Perfect for celebrations or anytime you want a melt-in-your-mouth treat!

🥛 Creamy Milk Cake

Ingredients:

For the cake:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 4 large eggs, separated

  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided

  • 1/2 cup whole milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the milk soak:

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

For the topping:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Optional: toasted nuts, cinnamon, or fresh fruit for garnish

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven & Prep Pan:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Grease and flour a 9×9-inch baking pan.

2. Make the Cake Batter:

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  • In a separate large bowl, beat egg yolks with 1/2 cup sugar until pale and thick.

  • Stir in milk and vanilla.

  • Gradually add flour mixture to egg yolk mixture, mixing gently.

  • In another clean bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form.

  • Gradually add remaining 1/2 cup sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.

  • Fold egg whites carefully into the batter, preserving the airiness.

3. Bake:

  • Pour batter into prepared pan.

  • Bake 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  • Remove from oven and let cool slightly.

4. Prepare Milk Soak:

  • Whisk together whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and heavy cream.

5. Soak the Cake:

  • Using a fork or skewer, poke holes all over the cake.

  • Slowly pour the milk mixture evenly over the warm cake.

  • Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight to absorb.

6. Make Whipped Topping:

  • Beat heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.

7. Serve:

  • Spread whipped cream over the soaked cake.

  • Garnish with toasted nuts, cinnamon, or fresh fruit if desired.

  • Slice and enjoy chilled!

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of rum or almond extract to the milk soak.

  • Use evaporated milk in place of whole milk for a richer texture.

  • Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
