Here’s a Creamy Custard with Raisins and Nuts recipe that’s simple, rich, and perfect for dessert lovers:

📋 Ingredients:

  • Milk – 2 cups (500 ml)

  • Sugar – 4 tbsp (adjust to taste)

  • Custard powder – 2 tbsp (vanilla flavor recommended)

  • Raisins – 2 tbsp

  • Chopped nuts – 3 tbsp (almonds, cashews, pistachios)

  • Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp (optional, for aroma)

  • Butter or ghee – 1 tsp (optional, for roasting nuts/raisins)


🔪 Instructions:

1. Prep the Custard Mix

  • In a small bowl, take 2 tbsp of custard powder and mix it with ½ cup of cold milk to form a smooth slurry. Set aside.

2. Boil the Milk

  • In a saucepan, bring the remaining 1½ cups of milk to a boil over medium heat.

  • Stir occasionally to avoid scorching.

3. Sweeten It

  • Add sugar to the boiling milk and stir until dissolved.

  • You can also add a pinch of cardamom powder here if using.

4. Add the Custard Slurry

  • Reduce the heat to low.

  • Slowly pour the custard slurry into the hot milk while continuously stirring to avoid lumps.

  • Keep stirring and cook for 3–5 minutes until it thickens to a creamy consistency.

5. Roast Nuts and Raisins (Optional but recommended)

  • In a small pan, heat 1 tsp butter or ghee.

  • Add chopped nuts and raisins.

  • Roast for 1–2 minutes until nuts are lightly golden and raisins puff up.

6. Combine and Finish

  • Add the roasted nuts and raisins to the custard.

  • Mix well and simmer for 1 minute.

  • Turn off the heat.


❄️ Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve warm for a cozy dessert.

  • Or chill for 1–2 hours in the fridge and serve cold for a refreshing treat.

  • Garnish with a few extra nuts or a sprinkle of saffron if you like.
