Crack Cake Recipe
🍰 Ingredients:
For the Cake:
-
1 box yellow cake mix
-
1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
-
½ cup brown sugar
-
½ cup granulated sugar
-
1 tablespoon cinnamon
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
4 large eggs
-
1 cup water
-
¾ cup vegetable oil
-
½ cup white wine (e.g., chardonnay or any sweet white wine)
For the Glaze:
-
1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter
-
1 cup granulated sugar
-
¼ cup white wine
👩🍳 Instructions:
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
-
In a large bowl, mix all cake ingredients together. Beat until smooth (about 2–3 minutes).
-
Pour batter into the prepared bundt pan.
-
Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
-
While cake bakes, make the glaze:
-
In a small saucepan, melt the butter.
-
Add sugar and wine.
-
Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves and the mixture is just about to boil. Remove from heat.
-
-
When the cake is done, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the glaze slowly over the hot cake (still in the pan). Let it soak for 15–20 minutes.
-
Invert the cake onto a serving plate. Let cool completely (or enjoy warm!).
📝 Tips:
-
You can substitute rum or bourbon for wine if desired.
-
Store in an airtight container; it gets even better the next day!
