Colombian Coconut Limeade

Here’s a refreshing and authentic Colombian Coconut Limeade (Limonada de Coco) recipe — a tropical favorite, especially popular along Colombia’s Caribbean coast:


🥥 Colombian Coconut Limeade (Limonada de Coco)

🍹 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup coconut milk (unsweetened; use canned for creaminess)

  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4–5 limes)

  • 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1 cup ice (more for serving)

  • 1/2 cup cold water (optional, to thin if needed)

  • Lime slices & shredded coconut (optional, for garnish)

🧊 Optional twist:

  • Use cream of coconut instead of sugar + coconut milk if you want it sweeter and richer (but it’s less traditional).

  • Add a splash of rum for a boozy version.


🥄 Instructions:

  1. Blend it all together:
    In a blender, combine:

    • Coconut milk

    • Fresh lime juice

    • Sugar

    • Ice

    • Cold water (if needed, for desired consistency)

  2. Blend on high until the ice is crushed and the mixture is frothy and smooth.

  3. Taste & adjust:
    Add more sugar or lime juice if needed. If it’s too thick, add a splash more water or coconut milk.

  4. Serve immediately:
    Pour into chilled glasses, garnish with lime slices or a sprinkle of shredded coconut if desired.


✅ Tips:

  • Use cold ingredients for the best texture.

  • Avoid over-blending if you want it slightly slushy.

  • Fresh lime juice is essential — bottled won’t have the same bright flavor.
