Ingredients

For the Edible Cookie Dough:

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tbsp milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1¼ cups all-purpose flour (heat-treated*)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¾ cup mini chocolate chips

For the Brownies:

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as per package)
or use your favorite homemade brownie recipe

For the Chocolate Coating:

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or candy melts

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (optional, for smoother coating)

Instructions

  1. Make the Brownies:

    • Bake brownies in a 9×13″ pan according to package or recipe directions.

    • Let them cool completely, then cut into small squares and crumble into a bowl.

  2. Prepare Cookie Dough:

    • In a mixing bowl, cream butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.

    • Mix in milk and vanilla.

    • Add heat-treated flour and salt; stir until combined.

    • Fold in chocolate chips.

    • Roll into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined tray.

    • Freeze for 15–20 minutes until firm.

  3. Wrap with Brownie:

    • Take a scoop of brownie and flatten it in your hand.

    • Wrap it around a cookie dough ball and roll into a smooth ball.

    • Repeat with remaining dough and brownie. Freeze again for 15–20 minutes.

  4. Dip in Chocolate:

    • Melt chocolate chips with oil in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

    • Dip each ball in melted chocolate, tap off excess, and place on parchment paper.

    • Optional: sprinkle with mini chips, sea salt, or drizzle with white chocolate.

  5. Chill and Serve:

    • Refrigerate until chocolate is set (about 15 minutes).

    • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for longer.

Tips

  • Heat-treat flour: Microwave flour in a bowl for 1 minute 15 seconds, stirring every 15 seconds, to kill any bacteria.

  • Want more crunch? Add chopped nuts or toffee bits to the brownie or dough layer!
