Here’s a simple and delicious Chicken Burrito Bowl recipe you can make at home. It’s customizable, meal-prep friendly, and packed with flavor.


🌯 Chicken Burrito Bowl Recipe

📝 Ingredients (4 servings)

For the chicken:

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Juice of 1 lime (optional)

For the bowl:

  • 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or cilantro lime rice)

  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1 cup corn (fresh, frozen, or canned)

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 1 avocado, sliced or cubed

  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion

  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro

  • Lime wedges for serving

Optional toppings:

  • Shredded cheese

  • Sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • Salsa or pico de gallo

  • Jalapeños

  • Hot sauce


🍳 Instructions

  1. Cook the Chicken

    • In a bowl, toss the chicken with oil and spices until well coated.

    • Grill, pan-sear, or bake the chicken until fully cooked (internal temp 165°F / 75°C).

    • Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice or cube.

  2. Prepare the Rice

    • Cook rice according to package instructions.

    • Optional: mix in lime juice and chopped cilantro for added flavor.

  3. Assemble the Bowl

    • Start with a base of rice.

    • Add sliced chicken, black beans, corn, tomatoes, avocado, red onion, and any other toppings you like.
