Here’s a simple and tasty Cheesy Taco Sticks recipe you can whip up quickly!


Cheesy Taco Sticks Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (or pizza dough)

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend cheese)

  • 1/2 cup cooked taco-seasoned ground beef (optional)

  • 1 tsp taco seasoning (if using plain ground beef)

  • 1/2 cup salsa (optional, for dipping)

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • 1 tbsp water

  • Optional: chopped jalapeños, olives, or green onions for extra flavor


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:
    Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the filling:
    If you want to include ground beef, cook 1/2 lb ground beef in a skillet until browned. Drain fat. Stir in taco seasoning and a splash of water, cook until thickened. Set aside.

  3. Roll out dough:
    Unroll the crescent roll dough on a flat surface. Press the seams together to form one sheet.

  4. Add cheese and beef:
    Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the dough. If using, add taco beef evenly over the cheese. You can also sprinkle chopped jalapeños or other toppings now.

  5. Cut into strips:
    Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the dough into strips about 1 inch wide.

  6. Twist:
    Take each strip and gently twist it a few times, then place it on the prepared baking sheet.

  7. Egg wash:
    Beat the egg with water and brush each stick lightly with the egg wash for a golden finish.

  8. Bake:
    Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the sticks are golden brown and cheese is melted.

  9. Serve:
    Serve warm with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream for dipping.
