Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread – no yeast required!


🧀 Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread Recipe

Cook Time: 45–50 minutes
Total Time: About 1 hour
Servings: 1 loaf (8–10 slices)


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper (optional)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder or onion powder (optional, for added flavor)

  • 1½ cups (150g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¾ cup (180ml) milk or buttermilk

  • ¼ cup (60ml) vegetable oil or melted butter

  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar (optional, balances flavors)


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pepper, and garlic/onion powder if using.

  3. Add cheese: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until well coated in the flour mixture.

  4. Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk (or buttermilk), oil (or melted butter), and honey/sugar.

  5. Mix everything: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Do not overmix – the batter will be thick.

  6. Pour into pan: Spread the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

  7. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.

  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
