Posted on May 28, 2025

Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants – perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a savory snack.

🥐 Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of croissant dough (store-bought crescent roll dough or puff pastry sheets)

  • 6–8 slices of deli ham (thinly sliced)

  • 6–8 slices of Swiss cheese (or Gruyère, cheddar, or your favorite cheese)

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional, for flavor)

  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

  • Optional: poppy seeds or sesame seeds for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the Dough
Roll out the croissant dough and separate it into triangles if using crescent rolls, or cut puff pastry into triangles or rectangles.

  3. Add Fillings

    • Spread a small amount of Dijon mustard on each triangle (optional).

    • Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on the wide end of the triangle.

  4. Roll the Croissants
Roll the dough starting from the wide end and working your way to the point, forming a crescent shape.

  5. Egg Wash
Brush the tops of the croissants with the beaten egg for a golden finish. Sprinkle with poppy seeds or sesame seeds if desired.

  6. Bake
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffy.

  7. Cool Slightly & Serve
Let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!

🧀 Tips:

  • You can use leftover baked ham instead of deli slices.

  • Add a slice of tomato or a bit of arugula inside for a twist.

  • Great for freezing: assemble and freeze before baking, then bake from frozen (add 5–7 extra minutes).
