Creamy Garlic Mushroom Chicken

Here’s a Creamy Garlic Mushroom Chicken recipe that’s rich, comforting, and perfect for a cozy dinner. It features tender chicken breasts smothered in a luscious garlic mushroom cream sauce.


📝 Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (halved horizontally to make 4 cutlets)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 8 oz (225g) mushrooms, sliced (button or cremini work well)

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream

  • ½ cup (120 ml) chicken broth

  • ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (or a mix of thyme, oregano, and basil)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


🍳 Instructions:

1. Prepare and Sear the Chicken:

  1. Season chicken cutlets with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil (or butter) over medium-high heat.

  3. Sear the chicken on each side for 4–5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

2. Cook the Mushrooms:

  1. In the same skillet, add 2 tbsp butter and sliced mushrooms.

  2. Cook for 5–6 minutes until browned and soft.

  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

3. Make the Cream Sauce:

  1. Pour in chicken broth and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.

  2. Lower the heat and add the heavy cream, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning.

  3. Simmer gently, stirring, until the sauce thickens (about 3–5 minutes).

  4. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed.

4. Combine & Serve:

  1. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top.

  2. Simmer for another 2 minutes to heat through.

  3. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.


🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Over mashed potatoes, pasta, or rice

  • With crusty bread or steamed vegetables
