Mango Leaf Tea Recipe

Posted on May 17, 2025

Mango leaf tea is a wonderful, health-boosting beverage made from the leaves of the mango tree (Mangifera indica). It’s been used in traditional medicine for centuries and is known for its potential benefits, including supporting blood sugar control, improving digestive health, and boosting overall immunity.

Here’s a simple recipe to make Mango Leaf Tea:

Mango Leaf Tea Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 5-6 fresh, young mango leaves (preferably organic, as they are free from pesticides)

  • 2 cups of water

  • Honey (optional, to taste)

  • Lemon juice (optional, to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Harvest the Leaves:

    • If you’re using fresh mango leaves, pick 5-6 healthy, young leaves from a mature mango tree. They should be tender and green.

    • Wash them thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris.

  2. Prepare the Leaves:

    • Tear the leaves into smaller pieces to release their natural compounds. You can either crush them lightly with your hands or use a mortar and pestle to make them slightly crushed (this is optional but helps extract more of their beneficial properties).

  3. Boil the Water:

    • Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan or kettle.

  4. Add Mango Leaves:

    • Once the water is boiling, add the mango leaves to it. Lower the heat to a simmer and let the leaves steep for about 10-15 minutes. The longer you let it steep, the more potent the tea will be.

  5. Strain the Tea:

    • After steeping, strain the leaves out of the tea using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.

  6. Flavor It (Optional):

    • You can add a teaspoon of honey for sweetness if you prefer, or a little lemon juice for a refreshing tang.

  7. Serve & Enjoy:

    • Pour the tea into a cup and enjoy your fresh, herbal mango leaf tea.

  3. Supports Digestion:

  4. Helps with Weight Loss:

  5. Rich in Vitamins:
