Here’s a fun and colorful Edible Aquarium Popsicles recipe that looks like a mini underwater scene inside a popsicle — with gummy fish, blue gelatin, and little edible surprises.
Edible Aquarium Popsicles Recipe
Ingredients:
-
2 cups blue gelatin (blue raspberry or blueberry flavor works great)
-
1 cup water (for gelatin)
-
Assorted gummy candies shaped like fish, sea creatures, or other fun shapes
-
Optional: small edible candy pearls or sprinkles to look like bubbles
-
Popsicle molds and sticks
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Blue Gelatin:
-
Follow the package instructions for the blue gelatin mix. Usually, dissolve the gelatin powder in 1 cup of boiling water, then add 1 cup of cold water and stir well.
-
Let the gelatin cool slightly but don’t let it set yet.
-
-
Layer the Aquarium:
-
Pour a small amount (about 1/4 cup) of gelatin into each popsicle mold.
-
Place the molds in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes until the gelatin layer is partially set but still sticky.
-
-
Add Gummies and Decorations:
-
Arrange gummy fish and other sea creatures inside each mold on top of the partially set gelatin.
-
You can also add a few candy pearls or sprinkles to resemble bubbles.
-
-
Fill with Remaining Gelatin:
-
Carefully pour the rest of the blue gelatin mixture over the gummies, filling each mold to the top.
-
Insert the popsicle sticks.
-
-
Freeze Completely:
-
Freeze the molds for at least 4-6 hours or overnight until fully set.
-
-
Unmold and Serve:
-
Run warm water briefly over the outside of the molds to loosen the popsicles.
-
Gently pull the popsicles out, revealing your edible aquarium scene.
-
Tips:
-
You can also add some small white gelatin “rocks” or crushed candy near the bottom to mimic coral or sea floor.
-
Use clear gelatin for layering different colors to create an ocean gradient effect.
-
If you want, add a small piece of fruit inside for extra flavor.
