Here’s a Taco Bell Nacho Fries copycat recipe that captures the signature seasoned fries and that rich, cheesy dipping sauce. You can make it right at home with pantry-friendly ingredients!

🧂 Seasoned Fries
Ingredients:

4 large russet potatoes (or use frozen fries as a shortcut)

2 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

2 tbsp cornstarch (optional – helps make fries crispier)

2–3 tbsp vegetable oil (for tossing or frying)

Instructions:

Prep the Potatoes: Wash and cut potatoes into thin fries. Soak in cold water for 30 minutes to remove starch. Pat dry thoroughly.

Seasoning Mix: Combine all spices in a small bowl.

Coat the Fries:

If baking or air frying: toss fries in a bowl with oil, cornstarch, and half of the seasoning.

If deep frying: fry first, then toss with seasoning after.

Cook:

Air Fryer: 400°F for 15–18 minutes, shaking halfway.

Oven: 425°F for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway.

Deep Fryer: 350°F for 4–6 minutes or until golden and crispy. Drain and toss with seasoning.

🧀 Nacho Cheese Sauce
Ingredients:

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 cup whole milk

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (mild or sharp)

1/2 cup shredded American cheese (like Velveeta or deli slices)

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper or hot sauce (optional)

Salt to taste

Instructions:

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.

Slowly add milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Cook until it thickens slightly (2–3 mins).

Reduce heat to low, stir in both cheeses until melted and smooth.

Add cayenne/hot sauce and salt to taste.

🧡 Assembly
Serve seasoned fries hot with a bowl of nacho cheese sauce for dipping.

Optional toppings: jalapeños, sour cream, green onions, seasoned beef or beans if making “loaded nacho fries.”
