Here’s a Creamy Root Beer Float Pie recipe that’s nostalgic, refreshing, and easy to make. It combines the classic flavors of a root beer float with a light, fluffy pie texture.

📝 Ingredients:

For the crust (optional – or use a store-bought graham cracker crust):

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • 6 tbsp butter, melted

For the filling:

  • ¾ cup root beer (not diet)

  • ½ cup cold milk

  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix

  • 1 ½ cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed

  • ¼ tsp root beer extract (optional, for a stronger flavor)

Topping (optional):

  • Extra whipped topping or whipped cream

  • Maraschino cherries

  • Crushed root beer candies or sprinkles


🍽 Instructions:

  1. Make the crust (if using homemade):

    • Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until well combined.

    • Press into a 9-inch pie plate.

    • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes, then let cool completely.

  2. Prepare the filling:

    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together root beer, milk, and vanilla pudding mix for 2 minutes until it begins to thicken.

    • Fold in the whipped topping and root beer extract (if using) until smooth and creamy.

  3. Assemble the pie:

    • Spoon the filling into the cooled crust.

    • Smooth the top with a spatula.

  4. Chill:

    • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set (overnight is best for firm slices).

  5. Garnish and serve:

    • Top with extra whipped topping, cherries, and any other fun float toppings just before serving.


🧁 Tips:

  • For a chocolate twist, use a chocolate cookie crust.

  • Root beer extract intensifies the flavor if your soda is mild.

  • Freeze for a firmer, ice cream-like texture.
