Apple Pastries Baked in the Oven

Here’s a simple and delicious Apple Pastries Baked in the Oven recipe you can try!


Ingredients:

  • 2 large apples (Granny Smith or your favorite baking apple)

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

  • 2 tbsp sugar (brown or white)

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 tbsp butter (melted)

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting or caramel sauce for drizzling


Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the apples:
    Peel, core, and finely dice the apples into small cubes.

  3. Mix the filling:
    In a bowl, combine the diced apples, sugar, and cinnamon. Toss well so the apples are evenly coated.

  4. Prepare the puff pastry:
    Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into squares, about 3-4 inches each.

  5. Fill the pastries:
    Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each pastry square. Brush the edges of the pastry with melted butter.

  6. Fold and seal:
    Fold each square into a triangle or rectangle (your choice), pressing the edges firmly with a fork to seal.

  7. Egg wash:
    Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the pastries for a nice golden finish.

  8. Bake:
    Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.

  9. Cool and serve:
    Let the pastries cool slightly. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle caramel sauce.
