Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Here’s a simple and delicious Roasted Brussels Sprouts recipe:


Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Ingredients:

  • 1½ lbs (about 700g) Brussels sprouts

  • 2–3 tablespoons olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • Optional add-ins:

    • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar or lemon juice

    • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

    • Red pepper flakes, to taste

    • Chopped bacon or pancetta (about ¼ cup)


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Prep the Brussels sprouts:

    • Trim the stem ends and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves.

    • Cut sprouts in half lengthwise, especially if they’re large.

  3. Season:

    • In a large bowl, toss the sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

    • If using garlic or red pepper flakes, mix them in now.

  4. Arrange on baking sheet:

    • Spread the Brussels sprouts cut side down on a baking sheet in a single layer.

    • (Use parchment paper for easy cleanup, if desired.)

  5. Roast:

    • Roast for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through.

    • They should be deeply golden and crispy on the edges.

  6. Finish:

    • Drizzle with balsamic vinegar or lemon juice right after roasting.

    • Sprinkle with Parmesan or cooked bacon if desired.


Serving Ideas:

  • Serve as a side with roast chicken, steak, or fish.

  • Add to grain bowls, pasta, or salads.
