Frozen Mud Pie

Here’s a classic Frozen Mud Pie recipe that’s rich, creamy, and super easy to make — perfect for hot days or when you need a make-ahead dessert!


🍫 Frozen Mud Pie

📝 Ingredients

For the crust:

  • 24 chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), crushed

  • 5 tbsp melted butter

For the filling:

  • 1 quart coffee ice cream (softened slightly)

  • 1/2 cup fudge sauce (plus extra for topping)

  • 1/2 cup chopped chocolate or chocolate chips

  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional — pecans or walnuts work well)

  • Whipped cream, for topping (optional)

🍽️ Optional Toppings:

  • Extra fudge sauce

  • Whipped cream

  • Crushed cookies

  • Chocolate shavings


🔧 Instructions

  1. Make the crust:

    • In a medium bowl, mix crushed cookies with melted butter until combined.

    • Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish.

    • Freeze the crust for at least 15–30 minutes.

  2. Assemble the filling:

    • Spread a thin layer of fudge sauce over the chilled crust.

    • Spoon in softened coffee ice cream and spread evenly.

    • Sprinkle chopped chocolate and nuts over the ice cream layer.

  3. Freeze:

    • Cover with plastic wrap or foil and freeze for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  4. Serve:

    • Drizzle with extra fudge sauce, add whipped cream, and sprinkle with your favorite toppings just before serving.


💡 Tips:

  • Want a different flavor? Swap coffee ice cream for chocolate, mint chip, or peanut butter swirl.

  • For a firmer crust, bake it at 350°F (175°C) for 8 minutes, then cool completely before filling.
