Cinnamon Donut Bread

Posted on May 16, 2025

Here’s a Cinnamon Donut Bread recipe that gives you all the cozy, sugary-spiced flavor of a classic cinnamon sugar donut—without the frying.

🍞 Cinnamon Donut Bread

Ingredients:

For the Bread:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (light or dark)

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup whole milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg for a classic donut flavor

For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

  • 1–2 tsp ground cinnamon (adjust to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. Cream the butter and sugars together in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add the milk and vanilla; mix until combined.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  4. Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined—do not overmix.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

  6. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

  8. Brush the top and sides of the warm bread with melted butter, then generously sprinkle or roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
