Homemade Creamy Ice Cream

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Homemade Creamy Ice Cream without needing an ice cream maker!


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy cream (chilled)

  • 1 cup whole milk (chilled)

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt


Instructions:

  1. Mix Sugar and Milk:
    In a bowl, whisk together the sugar and whole milk until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. Add Cream and Flavor:
    Stir in the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.

  3. Chill the Mixture:
    Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours, or until very cold.

  4. Whisk or Blend:
    Whisk vigorously or use a hand mixer to slightly aerate the mixture, making it creamier.

  5. Freeze:
    Pour the mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container. Cover it tightly.

  6. Stir During Freezing:
    Every 30-45 minutes, take it out and stir vigorously with a fork or whisk to break up ice crystals. Repeat this for about 3-4 hours until it’s thick and creamy.

  7. Serve and Enjoy!
    Scoop into bowls or cones and enjoy your homemade creamy ice cream!


Tips:

  • For extra creaminess, you can add 1-2 egg yolks heated with the milk and sugar (make a custard base), but that’s optional.

  • Customize your ice cream by mixing in chocolate chips, fruit chunks, or swirls of caramel after the first freeze-stir.
