Cheese Bread Recipe Without Oven In 25 Minutes

Posted on June 28, 2025

Here’s a quick and easy cheese bread recipe you can make in 25 minutes without needing an oven! You can cook it on a stovetop using a non-stick pan or a griddle.

Cheese Bread (No Oven, 25 Minutes)

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)

  • 1/4 cup warm milk (adjust as needed)

  • 1 egg (for binding)

  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or vegetable oil)

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

  • Fresh herbs (optional, like parsley or oregano)

Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using). Stir well to combine.

  2. Add Wet Ingredients:

    • Add the grated cheese, egg, melted butter, and olive oil to the dry mixture. Gradually add the warm milk to form a dough. The dough should be soft but not too sticky. If it’s too dry, add a little more milk.

  3. Form the Dough:

    • Knead the dough lightly on a clean surface for about 1-2 minutes until it comes together. If the dough is too sticky, dust it lightly with flour.

  4. Shape the Bread:

    • Roll the dough into small round balls or flatten it into a thick disc (like a mini pizza) about 1/2 inch thick.

  5. Cooking on Stovetop:

    • Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat and lightly grease it with a little oil or butter.

    • Place the dough balls or discs onto the pan. Cover with a lid to trap the heat and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side. Flip carefully once the bottom is golden brown. The bread should be cooked through but soft and fluffy inside.

  6. Serve:

    • Once both sides are golden and the bread is fully cooked, remove from the pan and let it cool for a minute.

    • Serve hot with a bit of butter or as-is.

Optional:

  • For a crispy crust, you can increase the heat slightly during the last minute of cooking, but be careful not to burn it.

  • If you want to make them into cheesy garlic bread, you can brush them with garlic butter once they’re cooked!

Enjoy your homemade cheesy bread! It’s quick, cheesy, and perfect for a snack or breakfast.
